    Swarming after Swarm Prevention/Control

I have kept bees for the past 2 years, and successfully have prevented them from swarming. But this year after swarm prevention and control, they have swarmed. Why did this occur? Also I found a small cluster of bees under OMF with a new queen, and carefully housed them in a nuc, but to my...

Understood, but these stores are from winter so do I store them in a fridge at home or in bags? Thanks.

    Overwintered Stores

Yes, but if I leave them on won't the bees use the stores to feed on? Will it not be beneficial for them? as I only harvest honey in September.

    Overwintered Stores

Hi Beeks, do I leave on the supers that are still full with overwintered stores (sugar syrup) in April? will the bees use them? As I do not want to extract sugar syrup. I was concerned about space for them to store nectar for honey, so that I can harvest honey at the end of the season. Thanks...

Adding Apiguard with super in place

Oh well well well...my bees take all the sugar syrup given to them at the same time when apiguard treatment is in place, and not a single drop of syrup is spared, also the queen never stops laying for me whenever I treat the colonies with apiguard, whilst feeding for winter.

    Re-Queening a Queenless Hive

Hi and thanks for your advice, the 2 supers are heavy and crowded with bees the 3rd super is not so heavy as of yet, the brood chamber has stores but less bees, no bias as of yet. I am hoping there is a queen soon, if not then will have to unite queen right nuc to queenless hive. Thanks again👍

    Re-Queening a Queenless Hive

They were only on single national brood box. And now are packed with bees and are getting heavy.

    Re-Queening a Queenless Hive

Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for honey next year, if swarming is prevented. I messed up as when I split the overcrowded colony into a 5 frame nuc with 2 queen cells, because I could not find the queen in an overcrowded hive, which already had 2 supers plus an empty 1 added, they swarmed...
