Why should he take his gloves off! You can work perfectly well with gloves on and getting stung might put him off. I’ve caught 9 swarms this year and not had any stings because of a special suit I made. Stings do not have to be a part of bee keeping!

Yes, I know but it bugs me when people press folk to disgard protection. You see videos of people going into hives wearing Tshirts and shorts. Others think that’s the thing to do and get covered in stings. My bees are pussycats but I still don’t take chances. Good luck to the young man. It’s great to start young. I wish I had.

Yes but this is a light hearted thread not a prescription. I wouldn't worry too much. Anybody taking gloves off won't repeat it if it doesn't work for them.

It reads as a light hearted thread and I suspect the actual emphasis was on the young chap participating. No one actually said take the gloves off…..light hearted!
I doubt he’s actually reading the thread and thinking “I must take my gloves off”!

Ah don’t they look cute in their blue suits.
Stan’s grandchildren like their mothers used to shriek at anything that buzzed near them. I have got them into suits to look into the hives so there’s some progress
