I have joined the Leics and Rutland BKS but don't know anyone there yet. Am looking for any friendly keepers locally.

Hi I'm in Leicester.

The L&RBK theory should start soon it's first class and then practical at Brooksby in your case. If I remember right it's about six weeks / twelve weeks.
There will be some one your side of town that will offer to mentor you.
Would invite you to my apiary but not alot doing at the mo. you will soon make friends. The practical is hands on and theres normally hive's nuc's of bees available at fair prices.
