White strip

I have just gone out to my hives, one in particular has bees coming in covered in white pollen looking almost like a white stripe from head to tail. Any ideas, I know blackberry is grey, possibly that?

It's balsam. I can't believe we're at that stage already. The beginning of the end of the season.
 
Yep.....balsam no need for you to feed your bees this winter....lucky b
 
I did think about that but thought it was too early although Kirks pollen load book does say its out from July but normally it's a little later here.

Strange its so early and the fact its so dry I would have put money on it failing this year. Still its always welcome.
