White flecks on bee wings

Hi,
12 degrees down here and lots of bees flying around the hive for the first time since November.

i noticed a few flying out with quite large white flecks on their wings . they eventually fell off but curious about what it was .it was clearly white rather than a beigey wax type colour.

Fondant?
It could be fondant some times they get it stuck to there wings.
