It's a nuc, hived 5 weeks ago, queen not clipped, first hive, it's a national hive, growing quiickly, 9 frames of brood, 1 super fully drawn and a third full, taught to manage every 7 days.

If I go in 2 days early, then I loose 2 days, if I go in 2 days late then there's a chance of a swarm if I missed something last time around.

How often do you open your can of worms? Do you do so with specific intent? What is your IPM regime with your worms?

Actually, to give Chris his due....he's obviously doing something right if his yield is as he says it is during a reasonable year.

As with everything else in beekeeping.........each to their own!

Chris - I for one would love to hear more about your seasonal management techniques purely out of personal interest.
