Inspecting my fathers hive, a 6 frame nuc installed 2 weeks ago, I noticed this unusual comb.

I didn't notice it last week although being more confident now we're both looking harder and the frame was covered in bees last week. The cells are full of honey.

Any suggestion as to what's going on?

Thanks

Ian
PS I couldn't get the pictures to show on the page, must be doing something wrong?

Quite normal honey arch, bruise the cappings with your hive tool and get them to lay it up.

Thanks for the quick reply. Since all is well and the frame is a DN1 we're going to scrap the frame and feed it all back to them. We'll then have only 4 DN1s to contend with. Eventually we'll get them onto all DN4 and hopefully have less brace comb to fight.

Ian
