Hi All

Went through one of my colonies tonight, and they have literally chewed through the bottom bars on one frame, right through !!!!.

Is this normal ? why would they do it ?

I know Horses chew fence posts thru boredom, but, well, i havent a clue....

This is normally a sign of mice !, very unusual in the active season.

Absolutely no mice in there whatsoever.
I had one colony chew the inside of an entrance block last year.

i might have to try and get a pic. its really quite bizarre.

Has nobody experienced their bees chewing thru wood ?

Funnily enough i have only ever seen this in my Carniolan hives.
