Well I was there, had a lovely time and I really enjoyed wally shaw's talk. It would have been lovely to meet you guys but didn't know what you liked like. Tremyfro and I had prearranged how to recognise each other - she was to be wearing a pink jacket and headband. Unfortunately no such attire was to be spotted. Did have some stranger gesticulating wildly at me in the wally talk. Tried ignoring her, then she reached behind and yanked a pink jacket off the back of her chair. It was our own tremyfro. It was so hot in the room that the jacket and headband were removed! We had a great chat afterwards, loads in common.. Next time we all need name badges.

Well, one of:
badges
special signal
our own photos on the forum.

(Don't really think any of them is going to happen... but you never know.)

I think my idea of caps with Beekeeping Forum printed on them is a brill idea...we can raise funds for the forum that way too.....can I have a pink one please....Mr Admin?

But do we need to keep the funny walk up all day once we've been outed and identified as a beeforumer?

Oh all day I would think!

I remember the first BBKA Spring Convention I went to there was a bald chap wandering about with "polyhive" on his T Shirt. I was a beekeeper in my first season with little experience and I didn't have the courage to say, "hello"
Anonymous BKF caps are no good......you might strike up conversation with somebody on your ignore list :)

I had my ignore button firmly pressed all day but if you noticed the the guy in the yellow jacket at the door of the wally lecture that was me. Also seen talking to men with beards

Has anyone attempted to give Maisemore any feedback on this?

Only saw it yesterday and its a Sunday today, I may call tomorrow.

Emailed them this morning regards the top/bottom rail issue and mentioned concerns as to no beespace - reply as follows:

We have been using Langstroth nucs made in europe for many years which are made in the same way and we find there is no problem with
them
Will discuss further in the BBKA convention but wasn't expecting a long winded answer today - they're too busy sorting out the aftermath of Saturday!

You all saw me as I was there all day. I am easy to spot as the tallest (6' 9") and I will be back there for the Spring show in May with my old oil engines where the car park was. I had a great day and was surprised at the amount of different equipment available which I will never want. There seems to be too many ways of keeping one creature (bees) which only makes it more confusing for us newbees.

I watched a chap have to duck under the entrance to the theatre. A few of us remarked, "Blimey, he's tall!"

Was that you?

I put a couple of the sticks that come with the frames along the edge of the top of the nuc... Then put the feeder back on ...then the lid. There we go top space! Ta Daa. All bee tight too.
