I am just about to melt down some old wax.

What is the best way of separating the old pollen and propolis that is in the wax??

I only have a small amount and am going to try some very simple things. Is the old brown wax have any use or is it just the new white wax?

any tips or recomendations would be great..

Cheers
Pete

I strain my wax in two stages

1. through a normal metal kitchen sieve - this gets rid of the big bits

2. through kitchen towel - this is good enough to make candles

Old net curtains good too- I followed Polyhive with his heating system- works a treat
The old brown wax is a bit of a waste of time - very little off for a lot of effort

Will show you that extraction stuff if you come over for the jars, Pete
