Wasp or hornet in bait hive?

[Parsonage Bees]

Checked bait hive where a swarm has moved in and found an early wasp/hornet nest.





The bait box had top bars across most of the national brood box and a wasp or hornet had started to build a nest in the middle. The bee swarm has pushed her out.
Had a quick Google but can't decide whether wasp or hornet. Cell size across the flat of the cell is 7mm.

Hornet if 7mm.

I would also opt for waspon, even velutine. Here the wasps do not cover the cells with a paste envelope.

Very much like the one I had in my bait hive, but yours is slightly further on. Mine was a hornet.

I've got an AH trap up which has caught nothing so far. I'm not in an AH hot spot.
