Went to place some old brood comb in an even older bait hive, apart from discovering i had left a couple of granulated frames in there, this little chap popped up.

It hadnt been there long as i only looked a couple of weeks back.

looks a big bugger to me :) its a rat!

naaa just a very healthy woodmouse:)

Ignoring the fauna; it was naughty leaving honey in a comb in a bait hive. It is likely to be robbed (surprised it hasn't) and is a good methoid for pests and diseases to be passed around the local bees.

There are better uses for combs with honey in them.

Regards, RAB
