A lot of people seem to be poping in and then straight out again.

I suggest when you come in try typing hello or something and see if anyone answers.

I've been in there all day, ok sometimes I was 'away', and tried to chat with anyone who came in.

For those, like me, who use firefox..........the chat room doesn't work properly.

You will prob have to try something else, unfortunately it works fine in IE :(

I've just tested it in the following browsers -

IE - works
Firefox - don't work right
Opera - works
Safari - works
Google Chrome - works

So it's your choice :)

Roy have you updated Adobe Flash since you last updated Firefox.

Can I have some feedback from Firefox users, if its not every member with Firefox that has the problem then its not server side but the members browser/Adobe Flash that needs updating.

I am on Firefox and have not had a problem YET..

* I am using Firefox 3.5.2
And Adobe flash 10.0.12.36

* There is a Flash bug in Firefix 3.5.0 and 3.5.1

Upgrade to 3.5.2 and the problem should be fixed.

I have upgraded Flash to v10,0,32,18 and it still does the thing with the scroll bars when you mouseover, this only happens in firefox.

Other were saying in the chat that they were unable to connect with firefox, that's why I posted the message.

works fine on firefox for me version 3-5-2

Ref the Chat Room.

Would it be possible to have a evening where a pre-mentioned topic can be discussed?

If an evening is dedicated to the Topic for this evening is........, this can be published a week before the actual evening. Also a certain time must be published for a start and closing time otherwise it could drag on for ages.

Possible headings could bee;
Honeybee Management
Honeybee Products and Forage
Honeybee Diseases, Pests & Poisoning
Honeybee Biology
Honeybee Behaviour
Selection & Breeding of Honeybees
Honeybee History

I think that's enough for now.
On the other hand if a member wanted a certain topic discussed then that would take preference over any other topic, but must be published in good time for members to make notes regarding the topic.

What do you think?:confused::ack2:

chat room seems to be up and running ok, even had a breif chat about wasps yesterday, seems to me though that it really needs to have a little structure so have a suggestion to make.

Seems to me that a fair few of our members are not members of their local associations, making this forum their main contact with other beekeepers. It also strikes me that we have a fair few experienced, knowledgeable beeks. Add this to an undoubtable number of new beeks likely to join or already here and I think we have an opportunity to make an already great "virtual association" even better. Suggestions therefore could include a regular timed and advertised "ask the expert" sessions for general questions and also more specific question answer times for more specialist areas eg producing sections, heather honey, pollen identification etc etc. Could also maybe even include invited experts to "talk " could be someone say from omlett to talk and ask questions, someone from the co-op to talk about their strategies, hell maybe even a representative from bayer to discuss pesticides.

Think that will do to start the ball rolling.

Hi David P

My thoughts precisely. We need a programme manager who would be willing to receive info from members and then sort and disseminate it out for all to see.

I don't have a job so I am willing to give it a go.

Touche'. Haven't worked out how to delete same :(. Gives the option 'edit/delete' then leaves you in Dickies' meadow :boxing_smiley:.
