Im surprised over these pics....i have a normal "point & shoot" nikon s600 camera which i place a watchmakers eye glass over the lens to increase the magnification..........works quite well i think considering the size of the mite!
(could just do with better light to get a clearer pic!)

Last year I had one hive with a normal (if there is a normal) amount of varroa. I found that on inspecting bees we must also look underneath the abdomen as the varroa mite tries to squeeze between the joints of the abdomen.
