As part of my IPM I have retained a single std national brood frame in with my 14x12s to allow sacraficial drone brood comb to be created and removed.

I've just taken my first comb section out from 3 of 4 hives (one is rather behind the others). Inspected before disposal, good news, little to no varroa on the larvae. Of course the 4th may be a diff story!

I am interested to know what loadings others are experiencing.

I checked one of ours this weekend. It is one of the large colonies, had varroa last year and was treated with Apiguard in September, and Oxalic in December. Out of 30 drone larvae, not one had a mite. I need to check the other large colony. I'm not worried about the splits yet as they had quite a broodless gap after the AS with virgin queens.
