looks like this vaping is a good solution to varoa but do you the beekeeper need to take any precautions ?

...my dear old dad did lots of stuff with spraying paints and pesticides and turning wood and grinding metal .. and not always paying attention to the elf n safety advice and ended up getting a nasty cancer which saw him off 5 years ago and he suggested I don't make the same mistakes he did !

Acidic gases filters even better.
3m 6059 ABEK1 filter is the one I've been recommended and use. Plus 5935 p3 particulate filters.

P3 filters are required as the OA is present as a very finely divided solid. Acid gas filters are not required, as the OA is not present as a vapour - it desublimates back to a solid very soon after leaving whatever device is being used.

I wait till the wind direction means excess vapour blows away from me. And wear PPE..The cows in the next door field might suffer tho'

I wear only my normal clothes .. just keep your distance from the vapour produced as it tickles your lungs for a second or two...:spy:

This is why i trickle.

You lose out on the versatility of OAV. Can be used when brood in present, a couple of OAV over winter more likely to catch most of the mites than a single dribble as it's difficult to know when colony has minimal brood.
I do agree that dribbling is much safer than OAV.

Yes i understand that. I only have 3 hives so apiguard late summer and trickle in mid winter. Do you think that is enough?

Yes quite likely so for this year.
Do you monitor regularly? It’s worth doing a sugar shake or alcohol wash a month after treating in case your bees have been out robbing.
