Hello all,

Am waiting for couple of Virgin queens to be mated. Will be checking to see if they have been successful this weekend. If they haven’t I may buy in new queens but to save some cash I was thinking I could unite a Nuc (made 3 weeks ago) with a Queenless colony?

I was thinking of transferring the Nuc into full size BB then using the newspaper method to unite with one of the queenless colonies. Would this be suitable?

Yes. I’m doing two on Saturday just the same way I’m dummying the full size box down and uniting through a couple of supers

Thanks - should the queenless colony go on top or bottom?

Doesn’t matter. In my opinion I feel the queen is safer in the top so considering the disparity in colony size my nucs are going on top.
