Two observations I have not experienced before

1. I always thought that bees got rid of Apiguard somehow. Turns out that one of my hives stores it. I saw white packed cells which worried me. On closer examination and a taste test- clearly Apiguard.
2. Heard one hive making peeping noises on the polyhive landing board. The noise you hear when bee is distressed, only this was many bees and very loud. The cause turned out to be two hornets being slaughtered. Never heard this noise en masse.

Seen some white packed cells today and not used Apiguard. Strong Smell of ivy around the Apiary so assumed this is what it was. Interesting observation Cazza

Neat ivy stores would certainly taste medicinal too!
 
Apiguard contains thymol mixed with in sugar crystals. Why would they not store some? Just don't leave supers on if you expect to extract them.
