Has anyone successfully tracked bees back to their hive? I lost a few swarms this year and have since moved all my hives from where the swarms were lost.

I am almost sure that I am the only beekeeper close enough to where I have seen the bees so they must have setup some where but it would be good to track them and recover them.

Does anyone have any tops? I know which direction they fly off in.

I think I have read that you can put up a bait station; oncethe bees start to feed you can watch them fly back home (straight line) so you can triangulate. Might be good theory, not done it though!

It sounds like a job for a day with quite a bit of free time. although i might give it a go just se see if i can find where they are going :).
