Too much feeding

Very warm day today do I did a quick check on stores....

With the OSR about to be in full bloom this coming week, I had to take out stores from 2 hives on brood +1/2 and add a super to each. The other 2 had stores in brood box so stopped feeding all. I now have 6 super frames of capped stores in reserve. The other 2 hives will get supers on Monday.

Question....
When bees store fondant does it look like normal nectar or is it lumpy?

If it's not golden and runny then I've got allot of nectar coming in.

They don't cap fondant. It definitely isn't runny so you have a flow on!

They do if enough is fed, just the same as they do when feeding sugar syrup.

Thanks for the replies.... there's was some uncapped and it was most certinaly runny so looks like they are bringing it in from somewhere.

Sorry! I guess I wouldn't have noticed it of it had been capped. !
