I spent the day today at our county show on the local association stand, complete with hives, observation frames etc, etc. I have to say I was delighted and surprised by the genuine interest and enthusiasm from non beekeeping folk. We were mobbed all day by interested adults and kids alike. Most of them know (although in a sketchy way) the plight of insect pollinators, and are sympathetic. They think we are doing a good thing. And to see the face of a kid when a bee licks syrup off its fingers ---- pure magic.
