I have heard a recommendation about the book "The Buzz About the Bees" by Jurgen Tautz. Apparently it includes interesting things like observations of adult workers hovering outside the hive awaiting the queen to emerge for her mating flight and subsequently escorting her to the mating area. Before I shell out £20+ has anyone else read it and can comment?

Not read it myself, but you can get a copy from "Pick a book" for £20.39 delivered,£2.50 cheaper than Amazon.

I have the book, but haven't read it completely yet. Full of interesting insights into areas that were previously unknown. Heater bees and refueling bees for example. In my opinion a good read. All I need now is the spare time to finish the book.
The photography is very good and likely to inspire those out there on the forum who have already demonstrated exceptional talent.
