Not in school as often! :D
Got to school last Friday to find a full bait hive, so no pics, sadly.
Transferred it on Monday, wall to wall bees and eggs and larvae, so been there a few days.
Nice and calm, settled down quickly (I'm sure the eggs and larvae helped with that) and no obvious signs of disease.

Lovely, video Dani. Were they going into a bait hive?

Brill.....Lovely to see the blossoms and hear the birdsong too!

Didn't take long before the abelo entrance reducer was taken out while they marched in

one cast

Here is a cast from my hive. the nuc box appeared too small, so decided on a national. There were several patches of bees that eventually went under the branches, not too high, 5 or 6 feet and formed 3 big lumps of bees. i shook the branches over the box. This was 10th July. They stayed in the box, moved it over to other 2 hives 10-15 feet away. Today eggs seen on one side of frame 5. :cheers2:

I've had them abscond after vaping. I now wait until I see eggs before vaping as nothing will move them once HM is laying.

Here’s mine from my Cloakboard hive today. Bees returned to the hive as Cloakboard still on, back entrance closed & queen clipped. I already swarm controlled earlier in the week after I found 2 open cells taking away all the brood bar one patch of sealed and putting the sealed grafts at the top of the hive above a Horsley board. Thought I’d done enough to take the swarm urge away. No! Found the queen back in the main hive and she’s now safely in a Nuc. Downside of grafting into a prolific hive. What a week!

In retrospect I should have added a frame of brood. You could be right about vaping though.
They had drawn new comb and had some old comb, but there was no sign of any eggs. I do wonder if the queen was lost in the melee.
I think they might have returned to their old hive, will be checking what’s occurred to the queen cell I left in there in a few more days.
