I have read that a strong swarm can contain many queens, has anyone ever managed to get one through an excluder in an attempt to count them?

Just a thought.

No need to do that, throw them out on a large bed sheet as evenly distributed as you can. They will then congregate in distinct piles with their respective queen. According to a local beek his record, set quite a few years ago, is nine queens in one swarm.

kewl, time to try this one I think, next swarm is play time :)
