Took a call this afternoon, well it was a text actually, from a lady with swarm in a tree in her garden, I texted back asking for a picture and more information, by the time she got back to me they’d taken flight, didn’t get the picture, apparently they had been there 2 days!

Do you do a lot of swarm catching..?.

It fascinates me...had to catch my first swarm end of August. .

Made it up as I went along but I did it!..lots of learning from it and hopefully I'll be better prepared next time!
 
It does happen. Two swarms reported (by beekeepers) near me recently.
 
I got a call on Tuesday 26th to a small swarm, been there a day or two apparently, now treated and tucked up in a nuc with fondant.

It is small and probably wont survive the winter but as the saying goes nothing ventured nothing gained :laughing-smiley-014
