Hi all, your kind advice is needed - caught a swarm form one of my hives today. I was fortunate enough to be able to take a few frames of BRIAS and stores from a thriving hive and introduce the swarm. All went in as expected. However - I noticed a dead marked queen (definitely one of my own) on the floor, squished, right where I had stood (lots of bees ended up on the floor, they were a few meters up a tree and awkward to catch all of them when shaken into a bucket).
If indeed the queen was from this swarm, pretty certain it was), am I correct in assuming that they will try and raise a new queen from one of the eggs in the hive? Thanks.
