I met a student at the National Honey show who mentioned she would be looking for beekeepers to respond to a survey regarding their experiences of honeybee losses, and the associated economic and environmental impacts. The survey is now available online here - I've had a look and it's ten well-chosen questions, mostly multi-choice.

I've filled it out with my own perspective and hope that we might be able to give her a decent number of responses and hence a reasonable picture. It doesn't matter how many hives or how many years you have under your belt.

I've seen several such student projects so far this winter, and I've taken the time to reply to each of them. Why? Because if there is a chance that even one of those students may develop their interest in honeybees further, perhaps even specialising in honeybee research eventually, we all stand to benefit in the long run :)
