I am still bottling the honey, and i thought one thing which is never apparent to a new beekeeper is just how much honey you actually get from a super. Last year i had a bit, but this spring has given me more.
I only took off 3 supers, all Langstroth, containing only Manley super frames. a few frames i returned.
in total i extracted 21 frames, this has so far given me 60 12oz jars of honey, and there is still some more left in the bucket, just cleaning the next lot of jars.
Amazing isnt it, you simply cannot imagine when looking at a super frame just how much gold is stored in there.
Its all too easy to underestimate how many jars you will need.
