Some of you may remember me from last Spring asking loads of annoying questions and researching about beekeeping. Well, I missed the boat last year but will be starting with my first hives this Spring. I learnt that May and April time is probably the best time to start up with a small nuc.

My questions are really when I should be ordering and who from, if anyone knows any reputable beeks that supply nucs in the Nofolk area that would be great.

A big thanks to tonybloke for inviting me round last summer to check his hives with him for experience. I hope all is well with the hives after winter

To get a UK reared queen and nuc you will probably have to wait until June. A nuc offered much before then will either be an over-wintered nuc (not a problem but not easy to come by) or have UK bees but an imported queen.

Where to get it? I suspect someone would have mentioned you local beekeeping association last year and the advice is still good. Likely to be much cheaper than from anywhere ese. Otherwise look on this forum for any adverts.
