Hi Guys
Due to the strong swarming insinct my bees have (50 QC's!!), I am going to split them.
I did not see the original queen yesterday, but there were huge amounts of bees in the hive (but none on the supers?!?!).
Currently, they are in a 14x12 on a field of rape.
When I do the splits, should be able to keep them on the rape to build them up fast, or should I move them 3+ miles away back onto hedgerow fodder (and presumably feed!) to convince the flyers to stay with the splits?
If I leave the splits on the rape, should I feed regardless due to flyers returning to the original hive??
Any advice or recomendations would be very welcome.
Cheers
Pete
