i'm happy for anyone to post here but I will post my post here on the blog too. I'm away for 4 days over early next week but the BH arrives Thursday and then I'll let you know what I think !

Yes, I'd take a photo but it's bucketing it down right now

rather than a skirt, would 3 supers underneath the brood box be adequate?? (with an offset piece of varroa mesh below the brood box to prevent them building comb downwards and allow access)

This would create a large pocket of air (as a skirt) and bring the brood box above ground frost level (4ft)

thoughts? (apologies for still being off topic!) :)
