So I’m calling this the Somerford hive stand design - it’s able to take 3 hives - wide enough for poly too (final photo for an example)

nailed together - although I’ve used coach screws in the past.

legs can be 10x10 or 12x12

length as required. Cross members are 26” for the 10x10 a little wider for the 12x12s

middle cross member about 14.5”

24 x 4” nails

S

ps - all the timber was free....

Yes those timber screws would do the trick
Or threaded bar for that matter , dip them in metal hamerrite first except the ends for the nuts, job done!

Can I pinch the photo so I can replicate them?

An example of overloaded tyre stands - so the sidewalls of tyres are not designed to be compressed over time - they are designed to inflate from within.

having such weight on these will likely result in an unexpected mess in the apiary at some point - hence my hive stand design

each to their own though I guess...

Whole thing would collapse if loaded with 3 hives with 3 supers each full of honey.... over 1 ton?

a ton ?? a super is on average 25lb. 9x25 = 225lb plus hives max 500lb which is 22% of an imperial ton (2240lb)

IF I had bees that on three hives could produce 2240lb then I could retire a happy beekeeper !!
