That was interesting. When I sold some honey to a shop last year I had to put a best before date on it. I gave it fourteen months but could equally have put on fourteen years, or 40. I have some of last years honey and it has completely crystallised but pop a bit into hot porridge and it's runny honey again and quite delicious. Someone once told me (probably erroneously) that they had a packet of salt with a best before date on it, what they would have expected the salt to turn into after that date I can't imagine -- wet salt probably.
