So sorry about this, but I've just arrived back with my 1st nuc of bees, the question is do I transfer now? Leave them in the nuc as a home and foraging for a day or 2? Should they be left til later in the day? It's 14 degrees here and sunny with little wind.

I apologise for being a pain.

Thanks,

Martin.

I would leave it a day or so for them to orientate themselves to the area. As long as they are not hoplessly overcrowded they will be fine.

Not a silly newb question :)

Welcome to the forum by the way........

And other views may vary.

If they are in a nuc box and not a travel box then I think leave them on the exact spot you intend to hive them and let them settle down after the journey and transfer them over tomorrow

That's great, thanks for the quick response. I've got the nuc on the spot where the hive will be, I'll go and remove the plug now.

Cheers,

Martin.

I envy you, opening the entrance on your very first bee's.

Enjoy..

Give it a couple of hours and you will start to see pollen going in.
