16 a mix of Commercial, National, 14 x 12, Dadant and a Warre
After a week of sub zero temperatures the mercury staggered up to 6C - positively tropical:)

I decided to check weigh the hives and have a look at the varroa inserts so donned my smock but didn't bother with gloves or boots - mistake:( The bees too were taking advantage of the better weather.

The good news is that all hives are alive, the weights are holding up well and the varroa count is low on all but one hive ( see an earlier thread "Cause for concern")

The stupid news - don't wear shoes and dark blue socks when the ladies are suffering from cabin fever and expert ankle tappers.
