I think its a case of we have a cure but it will be 10 years before it will be available.

That may well be the case at the moment, but the small hive beetle may be challenging for that position in the near future......Cringe!

Unless of course the other bugs like IAPV and Nosema c, don't beat them to it.
 
OH welcome all ye profits of doom!
What we need is to extreminate every honey bee in the world and using the replicator from the Star ship USS Enterprise produce the perfect honey bee which will bee resistant to every disease known to bees, and a prolific producer of honey for the beekeeper.

So where's the problem then?
