Sciatica, In January it took 3 weeks and I was back to normal. Back in June the pain returned again accept this time with a vengeance, yet all the doctors would call it was leg and back pain, then it was upgraded to Sciatica six weeks later. Two weeks ago I finally convinced my doctor to refer me to a specialist to have an MRI scan paid for by Bupa under my works medical scheme and afterwards went to see the specialist again to determine what to do next.
(I wont post the picture of the prolapsed disc as it is a little scary but if you want to see it Click here) :svengo:
Booked in for surgery :smash: on 30th August to remove the prolapsed part of the disc, followed by 6 weeks of R&R. :ack2:

So thought it would be nice to remind all those with lots of supers to clear in the next few weeks be careful and watch you dont stress your back or worse pop a disc. :svengo:

Hope it all goes well Mike.
I had stabbing pains in my hip, thigh and lower back for six weeks last year. My wife reckoned that was sciatica but i put it down the sudden decrease in wallet weight after visiting Hivemaker.
Wonder if i could get him on a no win, no fee.

Darren.

Ouch, that looks a little pinched Mike.

Did you start getting any bladder problems with it ?
Bupa seems to be saving the day for many people in the uk now,I keep on hearing stories of people who need a good workup yet have to rely on Bupa to even get a diagnosis let alone be treated!!

Baldder no, but very painful to sit down at times. As a result the toilet roll holder isn't on the wall at the moment until I get time to repair the plaster board and refit it. :smash:

I'm sure the doctors are doing their best, but when a 42 yo shuffles in walking like an 80yo with an imaginary zimmer frame just before the world cup is starting and says he has constant sharp cramp like pains down one leg they must think - heres another one... :nopity:

Bupa have been excellent, even though they gave me the wrong time on my appointment card for my scan I was slotted in next without any fuss. Just hope they offer oil rub massages and an Xbox whilst I'm there after the OP.

:mixed-smiley-005:

If you want a hand lifting supers off i`ll be around your neck of the woods in a couple of weeks if the weathers fairly good.

Darren.

I feel for you Mike.

I've had 2 - in both cases it ended up with epidural jab but I think (stand to be corrected) this treatment is no longer used.

Didn't have scans in those days.

They do get better themselves but it takes a long time.

Specialist said I had 3 options

1. Do nothing

2. Inject me with a chemical which eats away at the disc which forces the body to in his words " gobble up the prolapsed part of the disc which can take up to 2 years "

3. Book me in for the OP

I asked for the OP... :smash:
