I have decided to try beekeeping , my late father had 3 or 4 hives which I built and made frames etc when I was a teenager.
I helped out with inspections and harvesting. We managed queens by inspecting and squashing queen cells is that accepted practice now ?

I have some old national hives(frameless and need strippping) but am interested in poly hives as they can be bought with frames and bees ready to go.

Any input would be appreciated
