No but sorry to say that sort of thing is nothing new.

I have come across black combs with the bees robbing coal dust....

Chris B tells of a story that traced red honey a good few years ago to waste/condemned Turkish Delight being fed to pigs and being robbed by bees in the local neighbourhood.

At least the pigs weren't expected to have any form of security against such thefts, but a Morelo cherry factory you would expect to be running a slightly tighter ship.

I saw some for sale today... RED honey, in a Garden Center outside Saltash
Told it was "locally produced"... at £9.75 for a quarter pound jar seemed a tad expensive!

have they set up a sting operation :)

Trading Standards might take an interest if it's not genuine honey i.e. made from nectar. On the other hand, could it be bell heather which would be reddish?

According to my book some honeydew honeys can have a reddish tinge.

Could well be Chris,it's a dark port colour, but in a small jar like described could appear quite red.
