Queens or more worrying?

Look like European hornets, but I've only seen them once or twice, sure someone with better taxonomic skills can confirm.
 
Thanks, I put the wasp there for a size comparison!, glad they are not the dreaded Asian hornets 🥳
 
Maybe if your a southerner but for those of us in the real north of the uk our climate seams to be keeping them and afb at bay.
same can be said for the whole of the UK, we don't have velutina anywhere but it makes sense to know what the buggers look like.
As for AFB - what makes you think there's none up your way?
