I put a young mated laying queen into the queenless half of an artificial swarm in a Langstroth Brood box 2 weeks ago. Today she was there - still marked. The bees had been bringing in a lot of stores. The queen has been laying anywhere she can, including on top of cells that have pollen in them. There is only one egg in each cell and it is on the bottom of the cell.

Views?

Something wrong with her or not? Problem with a back leg??? have you seen this before?

Thanks,
karin

I guess its just because she is still young and eager to lay where ever she goes.
