Yes, agree there, just wonder what they were "vaccinating" us with.
It was an annual event , more given when posted over seas . I served 2 1/2 years in Libya.
National service lads were bribed into taking part in experiments at Porton Down in Wiltshire .
After a cure for the common cold and influenza.
At least this is the line they were fed .

I was also in the RAF. I was in the Asain flu outbreak when I was in school and 3 flu outbreaks on 2 different RAF camps, and it didn't touch me. So in late 65 when at RAF Odiham I was called to see the MO, who put me under pressure to "volunteer" to go to Porton to help them develop a flu vaccine. When I walked out of Sick Quarters I was met by my sections CO's clerk, who took me to see the "Boss".. He warned me that if I volunteered I would be charged with whatever they could think of .. He told me that what they were actually doing at Porton was developing nerve agents (chemical warfare) and antidotes for the same.

Healthspan Saw Palmetto complete capsules have done me the world of good. And no, I don’t work for them. Small possibility of a massive coincidence and everyone is unique of course but my experience was:
3 yrs ago definitely enlarging prostate, some blood in urine few times over couple of months, starting to go to loo at night and hard to get out dribble at end of urination. Researched and got onto this product and after a month everything settled and no issues since. Definitely reduced size, no discomfort or toilet difficulty or needing to go at night. I don’t take it every day but most. Fifty yrs old and realising need to look after the body I used to just expect to work whatever I threw at it!
Looked it up: " ideal for men who want to maximise their sexual and reproductive health, naturally. " Alternative to Viagra?

I take it every day and I can assure you it doesn’t and it isn’t. 🤪
Also, so far little change in prostate issues, so I don’t know what it does do!

Time passes and I keep waking up in the mornings so as Granny Weatherwax from the discworld would say "I atent dead yet". Other age related grumbles (so far not critical) seem to keep creeping up but I'm 76 and fully expecting to see more birthdays ahead. I've reduced my hive numbers to save humping heavy supers about. I've purchased a motorized extractor and sold my 9 frame manual early model Thorne's unit to defray some of the cost. Plus following the relaxation of towing licences for trailers my youngest daughter now drives me around to horse shows instead of vice versa.

Well I avoided COVID all the way through lockdowns and have had all the vaccinations offered but this week it snuck up on me. I developed a bounding headache, sore throat, aching all over and generally felt pretty crap. I still had most of a pack of lateral flow tests from when they were handed out like sweets so I took a test. Yup I've got the damned thing. Nothing I'd consider level threatening so I registered the result on the NHS system and left it at that. I'm staying away from the rest of the family, hiding in the bedroom and taking paracetamol to dull the fire in my throat. I don't have an elevated temperature and the body aches are subsiding. The throat is probably the most annoying part of the event so hopefully a few more days will see the back of it. In the meantime I'm consuming bandwidth watching YouTube. As you would expect I'm also consuming plenty of honey 🍯
