Hi, Does anyone use Propolis in their oral hygiene ?

If so, do you purchase it a from a registered supplier and in what form ?

Can propolis be used from our own hives ? how would it be processed to be used for oral health ?

Would appreciate any feedback on this query.

Thanks.

I've read that propolis can be dissolved in high strength vodka and used as a mouth wash.

I myself dissolve propolis in rubbing alcohol with Tea-tree oil and put 5/6 drops on my feet. Sorts out the athlete's foot.

I find if you drink enough of the vodka you forget about the feet.....does that count

A stone age chap was recently revealed by a melting glacier in the alps and he had the earliest evidence of dentistry yet found, a filling of propolis.

Just out of interest would propolis be any good for dermititis ? If so any recipe's ??

It could be that it is skin contact with propolis that is causing the dermatitis (see earlier post especially the links)

Doesn't garlic between the toes do the same?

It's been noted that one of the best ways to start dermatitis is to contaminate the skin with a noxious substance, (most petroleum based fuels are good although more traditional liquids like coal tar or creosote can be substituted) when the pores are open or there is surface damage/scratches.

As propolis is basically plant sap it can be a bit of a lottery, (euphorbias for instance)?
