Not sure which section this should go in but.....what are profile posts? I can see loads of them and many have personal emails attached. Is this something that should be public? I must admit sending a private message is a bit confusing. I am never sure whether it is private post or not!

When I asked a similar question a few months back, Dani's reply was that she ignores them, so, whatever they are the mods don't know either.

But everyone can see them ...
That's what I said - if you want a Private conversation (what used to be called PM's on here) you start a 'conversation' with the sole person or persons you chose as you open it.
If you don't mind (or if you want) anyone to join in, you make a profile post.

it's just a way of having a conversation that everyone can see, rather than starting a private message
Like a pointless thread ?

There's a few on here that would benefit from being profile posts rather than pointless threads .

But can you exclude people you don't want to join in your not private conversation or once it's a profile post can anyone join in ?

Well that's you excluded from my not private private conversations then !
Seems you might be stuck with me after all. Unless I still don’t understand that is....

Much to my surprise there was a post from Black Mountain Honey the other day. It said nothing really, except contact info. Was it in fact some sort of advert? If so I may do that at some point! :laughing-smiley-014

That was a message from one of the 'Admins' I think advertising the fact they had become a forum sponsor probably

Exactly that it was in the Beekeeping Forum Sponsor Directory
It never showed under The Beekeeping Forum Sponsor Directory just the Latest Posts section.
