Just been looking at a new possible apiary site.
South facing and flat with relatively easy access and in area where nosey public can not see in, old orchard trees

PROBLEM???? an overhead power cable passes the length of the site, not a 50000 megga watt beast but local wooden poled housing supply.

I have not heard of any problems associated with 240 volt supply lines, as with mobile phone and police spycom masts

Any views or responces welcomed.....

Talking to a guy from Penzance this morning who was collecting an old Fordson Tractor petrol/kerosene 1952 vintage..... said he had an Oliver 90 in his tractor collection......................................!!
In the back of beyond in deepest Darkest Cornwall..... you could hear the duelling Banjos!!

Long thread on here recently re. power lines.

I have some hives below what you describe and no problems so far.

Have had apiaries pretty much under powerlines and not an issue that I could see. I am talking pylons here.

A bit of a chestnut this one.
