We're in a very sheltered spot and don't suffer from high winds but yesterday we had the lid blown off a poly nuke.

So just a reminder to anyone else using them; strap or weigh them down.

I put a brick on mine - seems to do the trick!

I recommend half a paving slab!
It doesn't bend the middle of the roof so much as a brick or rock... Plus, you can rest a smoker on it when you put it down nearby, without fear of singeing or melting anything:cool:

I'd strapped 2 together next to an empty hive - returned after the 'wind' to find the poly hives on the ground nose down and the empty hive strewn around. Stacked it all back up and strapped the poly hives to the stand. Another lesson learnt!

Depends on the variety of nuc surely?

My Langstroths need prying off every time. My Nats are pretty sweet too.

Another make has very loose ones... I surmise...you have them. Green?

Paynes. There, I've said it. Paynes! Paynes! Paynes!

How can telling somone what the make of hive they have be considered as advertising? Why put asterisks in it?
