As we all know that during our season the plant life becomes abundant.
At different months there are various plants that flower and produce pollen grains for pollination, for bee food and for the microscopist.

Here are a couple that I have done this weekend.

I think I should explain why the size photo is rather blurred.

This is taken with a lense cover on to protect the actual lens as the lense of the camera is poised on the eyepiece of the microscope. Because of this the outer lense has become marked and I need to clean it off to allow better and clearer photos to be taken.
I measure all pollen grains at X400 and then refer to my sheet which is already calculated to the magnification and size of grain.
example would be; mag at X400 / pollem grain measured 2.7 on the scale would give an individual size of 67.5 um (microns).
Clear as mud No?
