I went to let out the chooks just after 5 yesterday morning and was distressed to see a seagull with one end of a plastic bag tangled around one wing and the other end caught up on the neighbour's TV aerial.
It didn't seem to have been there long as several other gulls were still circling and calling but there was no way the poor gull could get free. All it could do was flap around banging into the chimney and aerial. A horrible sight and with it being so high up no way to immediately help it.

Thankfully the RSPCA came to the rescue. Although they couldn't get up there themselves they were able to get the fire brigade to attend and two firemen managed to untangle it and safely carry it down.

Fingers crossed the gull makes a full recovery!
Another reminder (if one were needed) of the harm plastics in the wrong places can cause.
