The Mullein moth caterpillars have arrived on the water figwort.6B13B901-33F7-4D58-9AD0-9E28EFCB1139.jpeg12BC963D-67C5-43B0-AED0-3B8292E94DB8.jpeg

That’s such a shame. All our verbascums at work have been decimated this year. Don’t know why I bother!

There is a great plant identification facility on google search. Just click on the camera on the google search bar and then when the photo has been taken click search with your camera. Its really handy.

Can anyone tell me what this sinister looking twining climber is please?
My dogs seem to be attracted to it and it doesn’t look nice!
It’s currently about six feet tall and the leaves just starting to open. FE8F073C-9F24-4F7D-B1B2-D2EE0FB4EB57.jpegD8ACDB15-D514-4792-8F2F-A5AE737C5B74.jpegC5496670-99A6-4A5F-B28C-243BA4984871.jpegC9C8265B-572C-4BD8-9E13-CD89C6B1A76E.jpeg

Looks like black bryony to me. It is poisonous to humans (apart from young shoots), don't know about dogs.

It's just a Euronymous I think! If you cut it hard back it will look like this

Yes @enrico, it’s a euonymus - but I was referring to the sinister looking thing growing through it!
I think @simonwig and @Monbees are right. This is a new one on me and having now read up about it, it does live up to its sinister appearance. It needs to go.
Thank you all for your replies.

Thought I’d have one thread for all the plant ID requests

Can I start off with this one?
Leaves are about 2.5 feet tall. No signs of a flower yet. Just popped up in the garden
Thought I’d update this. I’m 5’3”
