Washed or should I say my better half washed mine on a cold wash and it came up like new. They are very white though and seem to attract muck or is it just me ?:nature-smiley-016:

No it's not just you even after a quick mess about with the bees my jacket looks like i have been mud wrestling..i hate washing it but i have to with this one..a small price to pay for working nice and cool with no chance of taking a sting..

Mesh is easily damaged

Been using my new Oz Armour 3 layer.
A warning to those that have to treck through undergrowth or negotiate barbed wire or spiky obstacles. The outer mesh is VERY easily torn. Got two holes in the first outing- so other half put to work with the darning needle.
I also found the sun visor on top of the hood restricted by overhead view increasing the risk of colliding with overhead obstacles. Easily solved by pinning back the first consertinaed hood layer.

How old is it, they will replace the veil free of charge if it is within the 1 year warranty, you just send a photo of it.

I was close to buying this but was put off for that reason. Someone had stated that it gets ripped to shreds in undergrowth.

Its a shame as I am literally dripping at the end of my run of inspections but none of my bees are on grass, they are all tucked away in woodland or scrub.

Gotta say it all , I love my oz armour jacket used it for the first time Wednesday and it was great .
Excellent quality I like the way you get the two style veils with it , great to have a spare

eyeman

i have the same issue with mine re looking up...you need to pin it back a little or you dont get much of a clear view looking up

Everything we buy has a problem to certain individuals and no issues to others.. this veil problem is minimal compared to the comfort working with the bees wearing a OZ suit/Jacket in the blazing sun..

I prefer the fence style
Found another issue with the interaction between the veil and suit zips.
I get it that one side of the veil zips up first but there is still a gap between the 2 veil zips and the suit zip which isn't secured by the velcro flap.
'Persistent / burrowing' bees can make their way under the velcro flap as the central part of the bottom of the flap has velcro on one side but not on the suit side. They can then 'enter' my inner sanctuary between the zips!!

Don't all the zips end up overlapping ? with the velcro flap fastener simply closing off the overlap area ??

Perhaps you have managed to get an improperly made garment - talk to the retailer asap.

mine zips securely

vertical first

right to left (from wearing it) next, tuck zip inside

then left to right and velcro

THEN, lift veil and look down to your chin and you can see the gap securely closed from within

Had that problem myself a few years back, solved it by removing the Oz tags attached to the zip handles and now fold the two zip handles over each other to cover the gap.
